Omar Mitchell

Omar Mitchell is the Associate Director of Finance and Administration at the Hope Center for College, Community, and Justice. He is a Financial and Administrative Operations Management professional with more than 30 years’ experience working in both the profit and non-profit business environments. For the past 9 years as the President of OMS Consulting, LLC Omar has teamed with CEO’s and other business leaders spanning diverse industries evaluating their financial and operational performance.  The objective being to reduce expense, increase ROI, and create sustainable Competitive Advantages thru efficient and effective processes.

Prior to creating OMS Consulting, Omar spent 18 years in higher education working at several major universities including The University of Pennsylvania’s where he served as the Business Administrator for The Wharton Schools Zell-Lurie Real Estate Center; Temple University as the Director of Finance and Administration for the School of Social Work, and The Director of Finance and Facilities for the Temple Libraries, and Arcadia University as the Interim Associate VP for Finance and Administration.

Omar holds an EMBA from Temple University, Fox School of Business, a MSOD with concentrations in Organizational Leadership and Organizational Change Studies from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Arts and Sciences, and a BBA with concentrations in Business Management and Marketing from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School.

Omar’s management philosophy and style are grounded in clear communication of expectations at all levels. He believes informed and impowered Human Capital combined with efficient use of Financial Capital can create an un-paralleled Competitive Advantage.

His social pastimes include spending time with family, fishing, golf, reading and being in the outdoors.

Omar’s hope: To draw greater attention to the diverse groups impacted by the lack of shelter, food and support in one of the wealthiest countries in the world. And inspire policy and actions that eradicate those conditions.
