#RealCollege During the Pandemic project: COVID Student Survey

The coronavirus pandemic has devastated American higher education; colleges closed campuses, students lost jobs, and emergency resources failed to meet the demands caused by the crisis. In spring 2020, the Hope Center surveyed students from 54 colleges and universities across the country to understand the pandemic’s impact on their basic needs security and well-being. This pandemic-focused survey adds to evidence of basic needs insecurity among college students that the Hope Center has been building through years of #RealCollege surveys. It demonstrates the urgent need for higher education institutions, policy-makers, philanthropists, and the broader public to take action in support of students.
