10 AM – 4 PM ET

Join us for a day of learning in community as we bring together policy experts, policymakers, advocates, campus leaders, and researchers to discuss how states and the federal government can make college affordable and help students secure their basic needs.

Keynoted by U.S. Department of Education Under Secretary James Kvaal and New Jersey Secretary of Higher Education Brian K. Bridges, our first ever Virtual Policy Summit will be conducted entirely online, and will address urgent policy challenges and opportunities to advance equity in higher education outcomes.

The summit will cover the landscape of policy actions and opportunities impacting student basic needs security in state agencies and legislatures, federal agencies, the White House, and Congress. The summit will address will address rulemaking, legislation, executive actions, grants, appropriations, and more. Expert panelists will host concurrent sessions on topics such as food security, housing, child care, mental health, emergency aid, reproductive justice, and basic needs hubs. Attendees will gain specific content knowledge on these policy areas in student basic needs security that will enable more effective advocacy.

Let’s come together and build a higher education system in which students are humans first.
