College, for Sean, is about recovery. He barely has the money to attend. But the darkness drives him, pushing him to finish that degree, and in his words “become whole…” Last fall, we set out to investigate the mental health conditions of students at America’s community colleges. We conducted an online survey at ten institutions, and gained participation from more than 4,000 undergraduates.
