Bio: Rosalia Armas is an undergraduate student at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. Originally from Los Angeles, California, she joined the SLAC because she is passionate about advocating for students’ basic needs; she is eager to gain more knowledge to better serve students on her campus, where she serves as ASI, Secretary of Basic Needs. Rosalia brings diversity to the Council through her lived experiences as a first-generation college student. She personally understands that navigating the higher education system all on your own can be challenging and often discouraging. Rosalia is also a parent of a beautiful 3-year-old daughter and Rosalia hopes to raise awareness on the challenges that parenting students face while pursuing their degree. Rosalia is committed to promoting the importance of community engagement to address basic needs insecurity.
